THE STRATEGY

Pricing Strategy

Study Quest uses a cost-plus and competitor-based pricing approach: the box retails at $99, positioned above simple pouches (Yondr-style, ~$30–$40) but in line with tech-forward competitors like Brick (~$90 AUD) once its extra hardware (screen, app ecosystem, parental dashboard) is accounted for. An optional Study Quest Plus subscription ($4.99/month) unlocks extra virtual assistant customisation and an expanded reward marketplace — a second, recurring revenue stream beyond the one-off hardware sale.

Short-Term Goals (Year 1)

• Run a crowdfunding pre-order campaign targeting 300 pre-orders to validate demand before
committing to full manufacturing
• Reach break-even (~740 units sold — see Finance)

Study Quest — AT3 Working Document
• Secure 2–3 school wellbeing partnerships for demonstration events
• Use feedback from the first 100 customers to refine the app and reward system

Long-Term Goals (2–5 Years)

• Expand from a single lock box into a small product family (e.g. a smaller travel version, a shared
"family" version for siblings)
• Move from direct-to-consumer into retail partnerships (e.g. JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks, Big W)
• Explore international markets — excessive youth screen time isn’t an Australia-only problem
• Build Study Quest Plus into a broader family digital-wellbeing platform beyond the box itself
